The Sale of High-Efficiency LP Gas Equipment
Glass top cooking ranges and high-efficiency water heaters (ECO-Jozu), the principal products offered by the Itochu Enex Group in the Smart Life Campaign, have excellent energy conservation characteristics and contribute substantially to CO2 reduction through high energy efficiency. During the twelve years since the campaign began, the Group has substantially increased unit sales and substantially contributing to greenhouse gas reduction by increasing the number of participating companies and reinforcing collaboration.
Rigorous Practice of Environmentally Friendly Driving
With cooperation from Itochu Corporation, Itochu Enex supports the rigorous practice of environmentally friendly driving during product transport by holding transportation strategy seminars for persons responsible for transportation at our contract transportation companies. The seminars, sponsored by transport truck manufacturers, consist of practical courses taught by experts.
Itochu Enex will continue to enhance its CO2 reductions and other environmental activities across the whole of the supply chain.
Promotion of LPG Vehicles
The Home-Life Division has introduced LPG vehicles with low CO2 emissions for use in its business activities. As of September 30, 2014 the Division operated about 630 vehicles nationwide, of which more than 60% were LPG vehicles.
"Cool Biz" and "Warm Biz"
With the aim of curbing energy use at offices, all Itochu Enex Group business sites have introduced a "cool biz" policy of setting thermostats to 28˚C when using air conditioning from May through October each year.
